The name, and what it means
Beyond 2.0 started in Ottawa in 2013 building practical applications on open data. The name was a promise then and still is: beyond the first version — into what comes next. Today it's the same promise applied to AI: organizations don't need more demos, they need the next version of how they work, and help getting there.
The CEO
Sean Kibbee is the founder and CEO of Beyond 2.0 and of Arti Intelligence, the Canadian holding company behind the Arti practices. He brings more than 25 years of IT experience — including five years inside Microsoft focused on AI — to every engagement.
His background spans the technical and the investigative:
- Technology leadership — product development, cloud architecture, and enterprise systems, with a focus on practical AI adoption and AI-enabled product work.
- Security practice — a licensed private investigator in Ontario with a Government of Canada security clearance, leading evidence-led investigations and risk insight through Arti Security.
- Education — building clear, practical training that helps people work confidently with emerging technology through Arti Learn.
